How To Change A Maglite LED Bulb

At present, many Maglite flashlights on the market use energy-saving and durable LED bulb, which are commonly used maglite LED bulb. But in those past years, these flashlights came with more traditional incandescent bulbs. Whether you want to retrofit one of these incandescent bulbs with LED or need to replace your existing LED with new ones, the procedure is simple. Reading this article carefully will allow you to learn easier replacement techniques.

The detailed steps are as follows:

Remove the old bulb to replace the maglite LED bulb

Maglite flashlights, whether compact or full size, have the same basic design. The sleek black torch body is just the right size to hold the battery, and the bulb is protected by a glass cover. You'll have to remove the cover to access the bulb, but until then, it's best to remove the battery.
  1. Step 1: Remove the battery

The cap first needs to be unscrewed from the end of the tubular body opposite the light-emitting end. But if this is your first time turning on the flashlight, you may find the lid difficult to turn. If so, please wear rubber gloves to unscrew it. Once the lid is closed, the battery should slide out. If they get stuck, tap the open end on a hard surface.
  1. Step 2: Remove the glass cover

Grab the collar holding the glass and turn it counterclockwise to unscrew it. This allows the entire head assembly to fall off, exposing the bulb.
  1. Step 3: Remove the bulb

Do pay attention to the metal ring around the base of the bulb. Grab the collar and turn it counterclockwise. When you take it off, the bulb will come out with it.

Install new bulb --- maglite LED bulb

Since we are replacing the maglite LED bulb, the light ring has to be replaced. Make sure you have the correct parts on hand.
  1. Step 1: Insert the bulb into the collar

Insert the light bulb or two-pin socket into the collar.
  1. Step 2: Twist the collar

Hold the collar with your fingers and turn it clockwise to tighten. Remember, you are tightening the collar, not the light bulb or socket itself. If you are installing the collar, plug the new bulb's prongs into the socket after the collar is tightened.
  1. Step 3: Replace the head

Screw the head back onto the flashlight body and hand tighten.
  1. Step 4: Replace the battery

Place the battery correctly so that the positive side of the battery (the end with the bump) is facing the bulb. Touch the spring inside the cover to the end of the last battery, then push the cover until it reaches the threads on the flashlight body. Tighten the cap clockwise and hand-tight.
  1. Step 5: Test the maglite LED bulb

Turn on the maglite LED bulb to make sure the bulb is on. If not, check the orientation of the battery. If the maglite LED bulb still doesn't work, you may need to replace the battery with a new one.
